We highly recommend that you not hire Marty Giddings. Marty was a dual agent in this case. She was supposedly representing both parties in good faith. Unfortunately, she did not represent us at all at the end of this transaction. In fact she could’ve cared less. She was only concerned about where her next commission was going to take place since we were not returning and had bought a new home in the USVI. She is the worst real estate agent whom we have ever encountered at Snowshoe or anywhere else. In our last transaction with Marty Giddings we gratuitously did a big favor for her and her buyer by allowing them (her buyer) to use our $6000 bedroom set for an additional 45+ days after the closing. In hindsight this was a huge mistake. Marty was responsible for dismantling our furniture intact and she promised that she would store it and keep it in good order until we were able to pick it up. Instead, she had someone (whom she hired) to take apart our furniture and they destroyed it rendering it worthless. She insisted that we pay by a “cashiers check” and by the time we saw discovered the damage to the furniture - she was long gone with our check. Giddings is without question - the most unscrupulous real estate agent whom we’ve encountered and we highly recommend you look elsewhere. Anywhere else would be better. We documented and took photographs of the damage to our furniture. When we showed these to her she attempted to blame it on my staff who simply went to pick up the furniture. She said that they had done it which was utterly untrue. They were simply taking the furniture out of her storage unit and putting it into a trailer. The furniture was hopelessly damaged when Giddings dismantled it months before. Marty was responsible for this and had promised our furniture would be returned safely; instead, it was destroyed. We hold her completely responsible. She did not represent us at all at the conclusion of our transaction. She only represented the buyer. We highly recommend that you stay away from this realtor. You can do much better at Snowshoe.
